Villingen-Schwenningen sits on the eastern edge of the Black Forest, in the industrial corridor between Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, and Konstanz. A region where German engineering tradition and applied research have been meeting for generations — and where the industrial plants we build for actually run.
That tradition shapes how we build software: sober, durable, robust under real-world conditions. Industrial plants run for decades, not quarters. The code that controls them must hold up the way the hardware does.

GROWN OUT OF APPLIED RESEARCH.
ForestHub grew out of years of work at the Hahn-Schickard Institute — one of Germany's leading institutes for applied microsystems technology, with sites in Villingen-Schwenningen, Freiburg, and Stuttgart. Industrial AI systems aren't a recent ambition for us. They're what we've been building for years.
What started as a research effort in embedded AI is now a platform that orchestrates workflows as graphs and runs on Linux edge devices. The research carries through to the product: every architectural decision was tested against industrial reality, not against pitch slides.
